Paul Feig’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Movie Has Reportedly Selected Its All-Female Cast

The Hollywood Reporter just broke some major casting news: Ghostbusters 3 officially has its cast! And Paul Feig’s all-female ensemble is made up of some pretty reliable names: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Kate McKinnon are in what sounds like the final rounds of negotiations.

No really, they’re thisclose to officially donning proton packs and they are getting set to shoot in New York City this summer. THR is quick to point out that all four actresses are still working through negotiations, but are still expected to sign on and make it official. No more rumors, no more dancing around Bill Murray — it’s happening.

And I think it’s fair to say we can trust these people. McCarthy and Wiig both worked with Feig on Bridesmaids, and that went pretty okay. Jones and McKinnon are currently killing it on Saturday Night Live while Jones can be seen in Chris Rock’s well-received Top Five.

No further details about the plot or characters were given, but McCarthy is rumored to be “the lynchpin” of the group. And I am excited beyond the capacity for rational thought.
