We Think ‘Suicide Squad’ Might Be Getting Some Jackie Earle Haley

The newest Suicide Squad rumor (among many) comes via El Mayimbe of Latino Review, and it lines up with another rumor we heard in January. Back then, Warner had reportedly offered the role of DC villain The Thinker (Clifford DeVoe) to Geoffrey Rush, who turned it down. If El Mayimbe is correct, Warner is now trying to fill the role with Jackie Earle Haley, who played Rorschach in Watchmen and Kelly Leak in The Bad News Bears (NEVER FORGET).

One question is which version of the Thinker Haley might be playing. […] The first appeared in the 1930s and faced off against the Flash using a “Thinking Cap” which gave the user(s) various ever-evolving powers. More than one incarnation of the Thinker went on to join the Suicide Squad in the comic books, facing off against heroes like Firestorm and Batman. (Via)

We’re assuming Thinker would be an antagonist to the squad, not a member. Although if he is forced to join them, it’s going to lead to so many jokes about him not being locked in there with them, they’re locked in there with him.
