I remember watching The Langoliers on TV when it was a two-night special event, and I loved it. That said, I’m sorry to see it go in July from Netflix, along with other favorites like Patton, Three Kings, and The Last Samurai. Still, Netflix gives when it takes, so hopefully we’ll have some new titles to fill the void. Check out everything that’s evaporating from the Netflix well in July 2015.
Natural Born Killers: Director’s Cut (July 1)
Oliver Stone’s meditation on violence and the media’s fascination with it is just as potent today as it was 20 years ago. The Director’s Cut has even more frenzied and chaotic cuts, so you should do yourself a favor and check this one out before it leaves July 1.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (July 1)
Even by today’s CGI-laden standards, T2 is a fantastic thrill ride that perpetuates the Terminator mythos. The truck-motorcycle chase scene is still one of the best chase scenes in contemporary cinema.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (July 1)
Fear and Loathing is one of those films that’s so bizarre, it demands strict attention in order to catch all the surreal moments that comprise Hunter S. Thompson’s journey through the city of sin. Benicio del Toro also turns in a magnetic performance as his Samoan lawyer.
