The Last ‘Star Trek’ Omaze Fundraising Video Honors Leonard Nimoy

This summer, the cast and crew of the upcoming Star Trek Beyond have been raising money for charity through Omaze, offering the chance for donators to win a trip to the set and a walk-on role in the film. They have rolled out a series of promotional videos, with the final one released today. In the video, Zachary Quinto pays tribute to the late Leonard Nimoy, the original Spock.

“Leonard was an actor, a champion of the arts, and a true inspiration to so many. Through his legendary portrayal of Spock, he influenced countless scientists and artists, myself and the rest cast included. It was an honor and a privilege to know him and call him a friend.”

While the campaign is working for nine different charities, this video highlights the life saving work done by St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, which was a program that was close to Nimoy’s heart. This is the last week of the Omaze fundraiser, so, if you have 10 bucks laying around, check out the site and enter to win a chance to touch Idris Elba’s bicep in person (this is not an official guarantee) while also doing a bit of good.
