By now, you’re well aware of Pope Francis‘ historic visit to Philadelphia. Congressman Bob Brady kicked off festivities by swiping the pope’s water glass. He later admitted sipping with relish: “How many people do you know that drank out of the same glass as the pope?” Elsewhere, the spectacle was more dignified.

Flanked by high security, the pope did all sorts of pope-like things in The City of Brotherly Love. He kissed babies and rode around in his tiny popemobile. He also caused spontaneous tears, which is not an uncommon occurrence with this voyage. The website Philly.com welcomed Pope Francis in the best way, by mashing his face up with Rocky. The iconic Rocky Balboa statue resides at the bottom of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s stairs, so this is a fitting tribute:

Let’s throw a cheesesteak in the pope’s hand while we’re at it, shall we? In addition, The Philadelphia Brewing Company created a limited-run beer called Holy Wooder, which sold like popecakes with the happy hour crowd. Even St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, which is hosting Pope Francis, requested a supply. The brewery obliged.

Pope Francis also led mass at Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. During the ceremony, the Pope Francis called upon the church “to place a greater value upon women.”
