A New Pee-wee Herman Film Produced By Judd Apatow Is Coming To Netflix

Back in December, we told you that Dunston Checks In star Paul Reubens and producer Judd Apatow were working on a new Pee-wee Herman project for Netflix. Today, we received word from Mailman Mike’s no-good millennial brother, Website Press Release Jaden-Mike, that Pee-wee’s Big Holiday will begin shooting next month, and that it was written by Reubens and Comedy Bang! Bang! favorite Paul Rust and directed by Broad City‘s John Lee.

In Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, a fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny.

“Judd and I dreamt up this movie four years ago. The world was much different back then— Netflix was waiting by the mailbox for red envelopes to arrive. I’ve changed all that. The future is here. Get used to it. Bowtie is the new black,” said Pee-wee Herman. (Via)

Hopefully, Big Holiday is as good as Christmas at Pee-wee’s Playhouse, with special guest Cher.
