Aaron Sorkin Took Apple To The Woodshed Over Tim Cook’s Criticism Of ‘Steve Jobs’

When Tim Cook came out and called any movies about the life of Apple founder Steve Jobs “opportunistic,” he likely didn’t feel that he would rub anybody the wrong way. He’s certainly not the first to call out Hollywood for taking advantage of the deceased or those who can’t speak up for their own defense against the movie making machine. But, then again, he clearly forgot Aaron Sorkin was on board.

Sorkin wrote the screenplay for Danny Boyle’s upcoming Steve Jobs biopic (the one that actually looks good) and he didn’t take kindly to Cook’s opinion, replying during a chat with The Hollywood Reporter and likely leaving Apple fairly sore after the fact:

“Nobody did this movie to get rich,” he said. “Secondly, Tim Cook should really see the movie before he decides what it is…

“Third, if you’ve got a factory full of children in China assembling phones for 17 cents an hour you’ve got a lot of nerve calling someone else opportunistic.”

That’s some hard truth. Given, all media consumption and creation starts somewhere and ends up leaving someone with the shortest straw in life, so it’s safe to say we’re all to blame at some point. It just seems a lot harsher when you have guys who likely buy an actual human being pissing on each other in the media with that information. It’s like a cat fight with social issues.
