Alexander Skarsgård Says ‘True Blood’ Co-Star Ryan Kwanten A Better Kisser Than Margot Robbie

First he was on True Blood and now he’s attempting the transition to big screen leading man. Bearing that in mind, it’s safe to assume that Alexander Skarsgard has plenty of experience kissing his co-stars.

Skarsgard will hit theaters as the iconic title character in The Legend of Tarzan just in time for the Fourth of July. The Jane to his Tarzan is the suddenly everywhere Margot Robbie, in the first of her two would-be summer blockbusters; the second, Suicide Squad, arrives in August. Anyway, Skarsgard was in Australia recently and did a TV spot in which the anchor inquired whether Robbie, herself Australian, was a better kisser than another one of Skarsgard’s Aussie co-stars, Ryan Kwanten, who he once locked lips with on True Blood.

Skarsgard, who threw in yet another Aussie, Nicole Kidman, with whom he recently shot the HBO miniseries Big Little Lies (based on — you guessed it — an Australian novel) as a kissing partner, was very candid in his reply.

“Out of the three, I gotta say Ryan Kwanten is a surprisingly good kisser, actually. He’s very tender. You wouldn’t think it because he’s kind of a tough guy. But [he has a] very soft, gentle, tender touch.”

Skarsgard’s admission drew laughs, but he didn’t appear to be kidding. Good on him and Kwanten. We’ll see how their smooch compares the ones Skarsgard shares with Robbie when The Legend of Tarzan arrives on screen July 1.
