How did A&E miss this joke? At Sunday evening’s Critics Choice Awards, the always outrageous Amy Schumer stepped onstage for the second time. She accepted the Best Actress in a comedy award for Trainwreck by breaking a heel on the way up to the microphone. Schumer began her speech by asking, “Who wants to hear from this b*tch again?” Then she swiftly launched a joke about wanting to go down on Lily Tomlin. Charming.
Tomlin was as amused as the rest of the audience, but folks were clearly taken aback by the comedienne’s lack of decorum at a stuffy awards show. Schumer likely wasn’t prepared to win twice in one evening, so she ad libbed like a pro by nabbing the nearest person for a quick introduction. This speech won’t win Schumer any new fans, but her existing ones will get it. As for Jacob Tremblay, let’s hope the kid was still beaming bright enough to miss the proud mess named Amy Schumer.
