Someone From ‘Community’ Is Going To Be In ‘Avengers: Infinity War,’ But Who?

Audiences familiar with directors Joe and Anthony Russo’s work on Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War are well aware of the pair’s history with Community. At first, the thought of two television comedy directors handling a Marvel franchise seemed weird, but after two movies and a sweet gig directing the next two Avengers films, fans no longer have anything to worry about. Especially since, per Danny Pudi and Jim Rash’s memorable cameos in Winter Soldier and Civil War, the Russos haven’t forgotten their roots.

Hence why, as Joe Russo explained to Cinema Blend, everyone should expect yet another Community star to cameo in Avengers: Infinity War. Not only will the brothers keep the joke going, but they’re actively trying to figure out who the next cameo will be at this very moment:

“We’re literally in that phase of the pre-production where we start thinking about those kinds of things, and right now we’re looking for the right part to see who’s a match for the next cameo.”

When pressed for more details, Russo simply confirmed they were “absolutely” vetting small parts for a potential Community salute. The running joke is popular among Marvel fans, so the brothers definitely want to “keep the streak going.”

But who will pop up in Avengers: Infinity War? Pudi and Rash are out of the question. As for Donald Glover, his casting in Spider-Man: Homecoming will likely prevent him from appearing (unless he plays the same character in both films). It’d be great to see Joel McHale reprise his stellar Björk impression, but let’s be honest — the cameos thus far have been decidedly male. So why not give Gillian Jacobs, Yvette Nicole Brown, or Alison Brie a shot?

Besides, Brie voiced Black Widow in the Marvel Avengers Academy game, so she’s definitely got the chops for the Marvel universe.
