Henry Cavill: ‘Of Course Superman Is Going To Win’

Just yesterday, we were talking about #WhoWillWin, the Twitter promotion for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Henry Cavill — the Superman to Affleck’s Batman — has already declared his character the winner. In an upcoming interview in the print edition of Empire Magazine — the same issue which features a reveal of the next big villain and Zack Snyder talking about Lex Luthor — Cavill spoke about how Superman is living now.

Specifically, he’s living with Lois Lane (cue the studio audience hooting). He’s also hitting his stride as a superhero:

“He is no longer frantic. He’s no longer a wet behind the ears kind of superhero.” [Empire via Comic Book Movie]

He’s also trying to use his job as a journalist to criticize Batman’s vigilantism and “show the world what this Batman dude is doing.” Cavill was also reasonably certain Superman could, in his own words, “kick anyone’s ass,” which is the assumption he goes with when he declared a winner:

“Of course Superman is going to win. But it’s deeper than that. […] These two great powers exist and are actually trying to achieve the same thing, but in such different ways.”

Yeah, well, Batman can still make catty comments behind your back (that you can hear from miles away). Can’t win that one.

Batman V Superman: Of Course Superman Is Going To Win opens March 25, 2016.
