‘Bite’ Reportedly Made People Puke And Pass Out, So Ease Yourself In With The Trailer

The summer is winding down, and those of us with “sweetblood” — meaning that we get bitten by mosquitoes more than the average person — are rejoicing. But sweetbloods who are horror fans have another reason to be happy: We have a brand-new horror movie just for us! Not only that, but it’s apparently so scary that it’s making people pass out!

Bite, from Black Fawn Films, is a new horror movie about a bug bite that goes awry that was screened at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival. It started stirring the squeamish pot by handing out barf bags to audience members and when people finally sat down to watch the thing, they ended up needing medical attention. According to reports, one person made good use of their barf bag, two more people passed out, and one more person fell and hit their head. Bite is, apparently, that insane with exceptionally delicate sensibilities.

Here is the synopsis:

While on her bachelorette party getaway, Casey, the bride to be, gets a seemingly harmless bite from an unknown insect. After returning home with cold feet, Casey tries to call off her wedding but before she’s able to, she starts exhibiting insect like traits. Between her physical transformation and her wedding anxiety, Casey succumbs to her new instincts and begins creating a hive that not only houses her translucent eggs, but feeds on the flesh of others. As her transformation becomes complete, Casey discovers that everything can change with a single bite.

So it’s The Fly meets Runaway Bride! Cute! Seems like the next adorable bachelorette party theme, doesn’t it? I’m starting my Pinterest board, like, yesterday. Swarovsky-crystal-encrusted barf bags for all!
