Brie Larson Hugged Every Sexual-Assault Survivor Who Appeared With Lady Gaga At The Oscars

Best Actress winner Brie Larson‘s most moving moment during last night’s Oscars didn’t happen on the red carpet or during her acceptance speech. In fact, it didn’t air at all. Larson, who played a sexual-assault survivor in Room, took several moments after Lady Gaga’s chilling performance of “Til It Happens To You” to embrace every single survivor who appeared with the singer as she belted out her Oscar-nominated song from The Hunting Ground.

According to Us Weekly, the actress (who joined the standing ovation after Gaga’s performance) began by hugging every person who stood on stage with Gaga, but, after recognizing the amount of people who appeared, she began engaging the survivors in group hugs to show her solidarity and to thank them for their bravery. The moment has since gone viral.
