Chris Pine took a break from captaining the Starship Enterprise to helm a rescue lifeboat in the first trailer for Disney’s The Finest Hours. Based on the book written by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias, Pine stars as Coast Guard Captain Bernie Webber, who leads a crew of three men on a daring rescue through a winter storm that tore apart two oil tankers on their way to Boston.
The Finest Hours is based on real events that transpired in 1952, and joining Pine in the film are the likes of Casey Affleck, Eric Bana, Ben Foster, Holliday Grainger and John Ortiz. Directed by Craig Gillespie (Million Dollar Arm, Fright Night), the movie is set to storm into theaters on January 29.
