Chris Pratt Sets The Bar High For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ While Teasing A Trailer Release

When it comes to details about Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, we know that fans are desperate for answers on what to expect from the film. James Gunn has run down the answers on his Facebook, even going so far as to ask fans to stop pestering him about the trailer release. Gunn claimed the trailer release is sometime around “when it’s done, it’s done” in his plea to fans, but Chris Pratt gives us a little more of a time frame to choose from inside of a new interview with The Toronto Sun.

Pratt brings some big promises with him to the interview, so the trailer being released “before Christmas” isn’t exactly the biggest thing he drops. It also isn’t something that going to get him in trouble with all those Marvel handlers out there in the shadows:

“There’s a network of people in charge at Marvel who make all the decisions,” he explained. “They have the universe drawn up for about 20 years. And they are pretty adamant about us allowing them to release information about the movies and what’s coming down the pike, as they see fit.

“And they’ve instructed us not to say anything.”

But Pratt does want to enthuse a little. “I can say Guardians 2 is going to be out May 5. It’s finished and it’s going to be terrific. I’m already so proud of it. We worked really hard on it and it’s a joy to be part of.”

He adds: ”It’s a fabulous script. I think it’s going to be — I’m not using hyperbole, here – I think it’s going to be the biggest spectacle movie of all time.”

You can only hope he’s not lying and the movie is actually a huge pile of trash. If they keep it at the same standard and quality as the original, this truly isn’t hyperbole. If we don’t get that trailer by Christmas, though, we can never trust a word that comes from Chris Pratt’s mouth again. A tragedy.
