Courteney Cox Hinted At The ‘Flakey’ Cast Member Who Prevented A ‘Friends’ Movie

If Courteney Cox cured the common cold while on the phone with Showtime and David Lynch to jumpstart a new season of Twin Peaks, the most popular question she’d be asked would still be, “When is the Friends movie coming out?” For the millionth time, it’s not happening (this applies to a Gilmore Girls film, too), which Cox recently confirmed to Yahoo!.

Interestingly, though, she also hinted at the reason it was never made, beside Matt LeBlanc’s insistence that he’d only put on Joey’s turtleneck again if his script for Ed 2: Boot and Rally Monkey got financed.

“We’re not doing it! It’s just not going to happen,” the actress behind Monica Geller said of the persistent desire of fans for a Friends reunion. “We’ve gotten about 80% there, but there’s always one person who flakes at the end.”

When asked if she would reveal who the flake was, Courteney remained somewhat cryptic. “I’m not going to name names, but it may not be [David] Schwimmer.” (Via)

So, reading between the lines, it was the original Ted Mosby, Ross. Schwimmer saying no to a completely unnecessary Friends movie is the first cool thing he’s done… ever?
