The Director Of ‘John Wick’ Will Officially Take On ‘Deadpool 2’

Deadpool proved this year that with a little creativity and a lot of well-designed action sequences, you can successfully make an superhero film without a gargantuan budget. With only a $58 million budget, director Tim Miller and star Ryan Reynolds managed to craft something truly special with this profane take on the Merc with the Mouth. However, despite their success, Miller exited the sequel, citing the always vague “creative differences.” The hunt for the director of Deadpool 2 was on, with fans starting a petition for Quentin Tarantino to take over the franchise. While it would have been interesting to see Tarantino’s take on a Marvel character, there were rumors that John Wick‘s David Leitch would be taking the reins.

Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Leitch has been officially announced as the man at the helm for Deadpool 2. Honestly, Leitch is the perfect man for the job, having wowed audiences with the revenge thriller John Wick and years of work as a stunt coordinator. Whether or not Deadpool will get a canine sidekick for the sequel remains to be seen, but this choice of director ensures that the gritty, ultra-violent vibe from the first film will follow through in the next installment. Chimichangas for everyone!
