Disneyland is undergoing a few changes to prep for their snazzy new Star Wars park additions, but this hotly anticipated bit of remodelling has some local sights facing the ax/lightsaber.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Disney’s Anaheim tourist magnet will be closing ten “eateries and attractions” next month. Some of these places will be back in action after construction’s wrapped up, while others will be permanently done for and possibly shoved into a cryogenic freezing device. Here’s the health status of the places impacted by the building of the 14 acre Star Wars area:

Permanent Closures:
Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland
Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue
Big Thunder Ranch Petting Zoo
Big Thunder Ranch Jamboree

Temporary Closures:
Fantasmic
The Mark Twain Riverboat
The Sailing Ship Columbia
The Pirates Lair on Tom Sawyer Island
The Disneyland Railroad
The Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes

Essentially, Big Thunder Ranch must die so Star Wars can live. Or something like that.

Disneyland isn’t the only location preparing to host an entire land inhabited by Star Wars. The park’s Floridian sibling, Walt Disney World, is also getting its own attractions based on the ridiculously successful film series. Here’s how the project was billed on the official Star Wars site when it was announced in August.

Ambitious plans to bring Star Wars to life in the two parks include creating Disney’s largest single-themed land expansions ever at 14-acres each, transporting guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before wild space where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.

All we ask is that you not hold your breath for a Jar Jar Binks’ Wild Ride type attraction. It’s probably not gonna happen.
