‘Dungeons And Dragons’ Is Courting Ansel Elgort As Its Leading Man

Isn’t it kind of weird that we haven’t gotten a live-action Dungeons and Dragons movie yet? Really, in the grand scheme of game-based cinematic adaptations, we got Angry Birds before we got DND and that seems wrong. Thankfully, that will be remedied very soon. A feature film adaptation of the groundbreaking roleplaying game is on the way from Rob Letterman, the director of the recent Goosebumps film that was way better than it had any right to be. And now it’s looking like it might have a star attached, one sure to start some solid buzz for the film.

Ansel Elgort – he of the perfectly pouty lips that your younger sister/girlfriend/boyfriend/somebody you know (probably) has daydreamed about – is in negotiations to star in the film, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Elgort made waves starring in the adaptations of young adult novels like The Fault In Our Stars and the Divergent series. He was also one of the frontrunners to play a young Han Solo in Disney and Lucasfilm’s spinoff film about the origins of everyone’s favorite galactic scoundrel.

No official word yet, but it’s certainly looking like we could see Elgort suiting up as a half-elf paladin sometime very, very soon (Just kidding guys, everyone knows you can’t play an elf as a paladin in DND).
