The last time we saw Elle Fanning on the big screen was opposite Angelina Jolie in Maleficent. If the above trailer for About Ray says anything, it looks like Fanning is beginning to flock to more dramatic roles. Here, Fanning plays Ramona, a teen just beginning her difficult transition into her true male identity, Ray.
The story begins to evolve as Ray’s mother, grandmother and estranged father become impacted by the gender transition. Joining Fanning in the movie are Naomi Watts, Susan Sarandon and Tate Donovan. About Ray is set to hit theaters on September 18th.
