Ezra Miller Discusses ‘The Flash’ And Says The TV Show Is ‘Awesome’

After the massively successful Warner Bros. panel at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con, all anyone can talk about are the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad trailers. However, upcoming properties in the DC Cinematic Universe were discussed, including The Flash in 2018. Yes, there’s also a successful Flash television series on the CW, but it and the film won’t overlap.

Ezra Miller, who has had prominent roles in shows like Californication and films such as We Need To Talk About Kevin, is the DCCU’s Barry Allen of choice — a Marvel contra Fox move (a la the Quicksilver character) that could cause some confusion. However, the actor is stoked about his upcoming film role and the TV show starring Grant Gustin. While promoting Trainwreck, he gushed about the show, as well as his own part in the cinematic universe:

“I’m not avoiding it all. I think it’s awesome! I think it’s awesome! Come on, we’re the Flash! It’s parallel universes! Grant Gustin is the Flash and I’m the Flash, don’t you see? It’s the event horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chilling. We’re gonna have a race, it’s gonna be dope! Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day!”

Okay, so maybe Miller’s just a tad bit excited about his upcoming participation in Zack Snyder’s response to the Marvel Cinematic Universe over at Warner Bros. It’s great that he’s this invested — especially when his own film won’t see the light of day until 2018. Yet if his interviewer’s face is any indication, Miller might want to lay off whatever he’s taking just a tiny, winy bit.
