‘Fast 8’ Hits The Streets Of Cuba In This Early Peek At The Future Blockbuster

Cars! Family! Cuba! Exciting Vin Diesel wardrobe choices! Filming is currently underway for the latest instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise, which means an expensive car or twenty will be driving through something that probably shouldn’t be driven through in the not too distant future. Vrrrrooom and all that good stuff.

Fast 8, which is being helmed by Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray, has served up a sunny set visit on Instagram to reassure us the series isn’t taking a turn for the mumblecore. (Sure, there will be mumbling, but that’s a separate issue.) As Diesel notes off the top of this sneak peek, Fast 8 is the first big budget Hollywood movie to shoot in Cuba since the revamp in U.S.-Cuban relations.

Locals cheer, automobiles are showcased, and a bit of dancing is sprinkled in as well in this charmer of a clip. No sign of Fast 8 villain Charlize Theron, but if these set videos keep up, odds are she’ll pop up somewhere along the line. Or maybe she’ll pose with Diesel in a weirdly enchanting Instagram set pic.

Glorious.

Fast 8, the Jason Takes Manhattan stage if you’re counting in Friday the 13th terms, is scheduled to arrive in theaters on April 14, 2017.
