Furious 7 is having a moderately successful run, and Vin Diesel has announced on multiple occasions that Fast 8 is a definite, so it should come as know surprise that Furious 8 has already locked up a release date. From Variety’s coverage of Universal’s CinemaCon:
Choking back tears, Diesel told the crowd of theater owners, “It means a lot to me to get your blessing.” He took the audience back to two years ago when, on the same stage at Caesars Palace, Diesel and Paul Walker, the actor who died in a 2013 car crash, said they planned to move forward on a seventh film in the action franchise.
“We were giddy and excited,” said Diesel. “You all gave me so much confidence. There was so much love.”

So mark your 2017 Tyrese calendars, folks. As for the script, Danger’s already got them covered. Hell, they might as well bump things up to 2016 things are so far ahead.
