It seems Star Wars: The Force Awakens has received the ultimate seal of approval from the original master himself.

George Lucas, creator of the series and director of Episodes 1-4, feels that The Force is still with him, as per Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Kennedy says Lucas “really liked” the latest installment in the franchise and will attend this month’s premieres in L.A. and London, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Kennedy told THR that Lucas hasn’t had the easiest time seeing the series go on without being directly involved but, “at the same time, he really wanted to step away.”

As far as watching the film himself, Lucas told The Washington Post, “I gotta go to the wedding. My ex will be there, my new wife will be there, but I’m going to have to take a very deep breath and be a good person and sit through it and just enjoy the moment.”
