I’m uncommonly psyched for Kevin Hart’s The Wedding Ringer because of Josh Gad’s “Dougie” dance in the trailer. I’m a sucker for people lip synching along to hip hop songs, but the trailer for Get Hard looks even better.
In the film, Ferrell plays a rich sh*thead who gets pinched for fraud and embezzlement and winds up getting sentenced to 10 years in prison, a term that makes even Craig T. Nelson blanch. To prepare for his stint in the big house, Ferrell’s character reaches out to Kevin Hart’s character, who he assumes is an uneducated ex-con based solely on his race and his menial job. Hilarity ensues… or it doesn’t, I’m not certain, but I did spy Alison Brie in the trailer, and she makes everything better.
Anyway, this is clearly the movie that a fractious America needs right now, but sadly we’ll have to wait until March 27th for the healing to begin.
