Charlie Hunnam Is The Man Wielding Excalibur In The Trailer For Guy Ritchie’s ‘King Arthur’ Film

Guy Ritchie‘s crack at crafting his own King Arthur motion picture now boasts its first trailer and we should probably thank the promotional free-for-all that is San Diego Comic-Con for nudging that along. Thank you nerd trailer orgy enablers!

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword operates in the sort of style you might imagine a Guy Ritchie movie would (Swept Away not included), but with things tweaked to be in the realm of Arthurian legend. Sons of Anarchy grad Charlie Hunnam is the man wielding Excalibur in the motion picture with Jude Law, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, Djimon Hounsou and Eric Bana among the cast. There’s probably some celebrity horse actors in the cast, but that wasn’t addressed as far as we can tell.

As you might expect, this is the sort of trailer where Arthur declares he’s not fighting before we get a number of shots of the dude kicking the old-timey snot out of people. “RAISED ON THE STREETS” declares a bit of onscreen text before showcasing Hunnam in shirtless punching mode. Whether or not this is your cup of tea, this March 2017 release definitely looks like a different beast than Antoine Fuqua’s 2004 update King Arthur. Give this early look a gander for yourself and weigh in with your thoughts in the comments.
