A Summary Of All The Ways People Are Killed In The John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum’ Trailer

The blood-soaked, action-packed trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum dropped on Thursday, and this time around, Keanu Reeves’ former assassin is under threat from the High Table global crime syndicate with a $14 million bounty on his head. Late last year, franchise director Chad Stahelski revealed in an interview that the third installment would have the highest body count so far, which is pretty impressive, considering that the first film boasted 77 dead, and the sequel, John Wick: Chapter 2, came in at 128 bad guys killed.

And now that we’ve seen the two-minute-long trailer, it appears that bloodthirsty moviegoers will not be disappointed. With in mind, we’ve decided to run down all of the ways people die in the John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer, timestamped for your convenience.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:12 — With a Machine Gun

The trailer starts off routinely enough, as John Wick is being hunted by four armed guards and he easily dispatches two of them with an assault rifle.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:15 — By Throwing the Machine Gun When it Runs Out of Bullets

Ever the resourceful assassin, when his weapon runs out of bullets, John Wick just hucks it at one of the dude’s heads, either breaking his neck or cracking his head open.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:18 — With a Handgun While Using The Dead Dude As A Human Shield

Even if the guy wasn’t dead from having a machine gun thrown at his face, he definitely would be after what happens next, because John Wick proceeds to pick up his lifeless body, using it as a human shield while he takes out the fourth guard.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:25 — With a Sword While Riding a Motorcycle

Elsewhere, John Wick is riding a motorcycle over a covered bridge with six more sword-wielding dudes on motorcycles in hot pursuit — which probably has something to do with the whole $14 million bounty thing. In any case, when one of them gets up close enough to strike … surprise! John has a sword of his own and his would-be assassin gets the business end of it.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:30 — With a Knife to the Neck

In another scene, one of the bad guys learns the “come at the king, you best not miss” lesson the hard way with a failed stabbing attempt that lands squarely between John Wick’s legs. John proceeds to grab the knife and hurl is back, and the baddie’s friend catches it right in the neck.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:35 — With a BOOK

This may be not just the most creative killing in the trailer, but in the history of the John Wick franchise. Another gangster, played by Clippers’ center Boban Marjanovic, is even no match for John Wick. While he first gets the upper hand in a library fight scene by kicking John to the ground, our hero manages to grab a book and essentially perform an upright curb-stomping move.

Lionsgate Pictures

1:40 — With a Gun While Riding a Horse

While being chased on horseback through an urban downtown area by a motorcycle-riding assassin may seem like an unfair disadvantage on John Wick’s part, Wick manages to take him out with one quick bullet to the head.

Lionsgate Pictures

2:10 — With a Dog (?)

It seems like only poetic justice that John Wick would get some help from dogs eventually, which he does with a visit to Halle Berry’s character. When two gangsters track Wick to her hideout, Berry’s two German shepherds come to the rescue. It’s unclear whether or not the one assassin’s cause of death is by dog, which can be seen leaping for the jugular, but if not you’d have to imagine a bullet probably finished the job.

So that’s nine down … just one hundred and twenty-something to go? John Wick 3: Parabellum hits theaters on May 17, 2019, so we’ll find out soon enough.
