In news that surely must have been deliciously inevitable, Kristin Chenoweth will be providing the voice of a new character in a new My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic movie. There will also, presumably, be all kinds of awesome songs written specifically for Chenoweth’s vocal acrobatics, though the nature of her character has not been revealed. But MLP regulars Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball will all return to voice their ponies.

Here is the synopsis from Hasbro, who is joining forces with Lionsgate for their first full-length movie:

In the movie, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity – embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home. The My Little Pony movie will feature all new music with the Mane Six characters voiced by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball. Jayson Theissen is directing. Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis are producing the film with Meghan McCarthy and Michael Vogel co-executive producing.

The world can finally breathe easy now that Kristin Chenoweth is going to be in a My Little Pony movie as fate intended.
