Kyle Mooney’s ‘Zoolander 2’ Designer Extraordinaire Don Atari Chats With Charlie Rose

Can you sort out the riddle that is Don Atari? Charlie Rose can’t, but he seems positively enamoured with the “anti-fashion fashion guy” all the same in this new promo clip for Zoolander No. 2.

Serving as a more tote bag friendly companion to Kristen Wiig’s nightmare harvesting “Youth Milk” spot, we’re treated to Kyle Mooney’s hot sh*t fashion designer having the run of Rose’s PBS show while the American TV fixture looks on like a smitten fourth grader. That said, it’s not like we aren’t being given hard-hitting questions and answers in this sit-down interview.

Charlie Rose: What was the seminal moment that made you want to be a designer.

Don Atari: That year when [A] Bug’s Life and Antz came out, [youth person noise]. And it’s like ‘which movie am I going to see?’ I gotta make a decision. What movie are you gonna see, Charlie Roses?

Charlie Rose’s answer and the confidence with which he said it may come as a surprise to you. Or it might not. We might be projecting some weird feelings when it comes to imagined animated insect movie preferences.

Zoolander No. 2 isn’t all that far away. Ben Stiller’s star-studded fashion comedy is set to hit theatres on February 12 with a stacked cast that includes Owen Wilson, Penelope Cruz, Will Ferrell, Kristen Wiig, Kyle Mooney, Christine Taylor and apparently 68,000 cameos.
