‘The LEGO Movie Sequel’ And ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ Now Have Official Release Dates

Warner Bros. announced release dates for the upcoming LEGO movies in their new, and quickly growing, film franchise. According to THR, the first film to hit theaters will be — the still unofficially titled — The LEGO Batman Movie. Will Arnett will reprise his role of Batman in the film, and it’s set to hit theaters on February 10th, 2017.

The Ninjago movie — based on the popular Ninja themed LEGO sets — will hit theaters in 2017 as well, on September 22nd.  And finally, Community‘s Rob Schrab is helming The LEGO Movie Sequel. Phil Lord and Chris Miller will return as writers and it will hit the big screen on May 18th, 2018:

“These three films already in the pipeline are just the beginning of a creative and diverse animation slate that will be delighting audiences for years to come,” said Dan Fellman, the studio’s domestic distribution president. (Via)

The LEGO Movie, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, made $468.7 million globally. Warner Bros. is moving quickly to hopefully maintain the success and excitement in this brand new film franchise.
