Congratulations to Lucy Liu. The actress posted a photo of herself and her newborn son on Instagram Thursday: “Introducing the new little man in my life, my son Rockwell Lloyd Liu,” the caption read. People Magazine provided a bit of background leading up to this moment for Liu, including her own childhood:
While Rockwell is her first child, the actress has dedicated herself for years to helping children around the world, volunteering with UNICEF since 1994. Liu says being the daughter of two Chinese immigrants helped her to value what she had and made her want to help others.

According to US Weekly, Liu’s baby was born via gestational carrier. “Mom and baby are healthy and happy,” US quotes a rep for the actress as saying. This is Liu’s first child. She currently stars as Watson on the CBS Sherlock Holmes show, Elementary.
