‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Gets The 8-Bit Cinema Treatment

Mad Max: Fury Road may not have been the highest grossing movie of the summer, but it was arguably most people’s favorite. With a direct story, gorgeous visuals and stunts, and Tom Hardy grunting, really it couldn’t have been better. So of course it was crucial to turn it into an 8-bit video game, especially since the current-gen one was a bit of a disappointment.

What’s surprising is how much managed to survive the pixelization. Admittedly, the movie’s nuances didn’t necessarily make it into the final product, but the stunts take a flattening quite well; I kind of want to play a side-scroller with those weighted boarding poles now. That said, it seems a missed opportunity that nobody asked Max if he was a bad enough dude to help save Immortan Joe’s wives. Although we suppose he couldn’t have been rewarded with hamburgers even if he was.
