Freddie Mercury Fans Love This A Cappella ‘We Are The Champions’ Mashup

Freddie Mercury‘s enduring legacy will live on forever, and although many frontmen may try to replace him, no one stands a chance of measuring up to his greatness. The man was a master of live performances, and even the tiniest unreleased scrap of a duet goes viral. Granted, that example was an unreleased duet with Michael Jackson, but the point remains — the internet will not forget Freddie Mercury or Queen. In fact, people love any chance to celebrate the Mercury’s existence.

The fine folks at Playback FM adore Mercury too, so they set about creating the ultimate viral mashup. Using an a cappella recording of “We Are The Champions,” they spliced together footage from concert films in unison with the lyrics:

“We love Queen and Freddie Mercury, so we’ve edited 4 concert films including a rare recording session of ‘We Are The Champions’ and synced them all up to the isolated vocals in honor of the late, great, Freddie Mercury. This video showcases his presence and consistency as the ultimate stage man. RIP Freddie. You are a rock god.”

This video is absolutely incredible, so it’s no wonder fans are gobbling it up. The mashup quietly nabbed 420,000 hits for a few days before hitting Facebook, so get it before it’s trendy, folks.
