Hate-Listen To Reese Witherspoon’s Strange, Enormous EDM Remake Of Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’

The Sing soundtrack is out today and its decidedly strange. “How strange?” you ask. Latin covers of Daft Punk strange. Runaways-style punk songs from Scarlett Johansson strange. EDM remakes of Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” with Nick Kroll and Reese Witherspoon on vox strange.

That last one is up top, a blown-out monster of a track that’s destined to be a centerpiece of the upcoming Illumination film. While “singing competition…but with animals!” seems like a thin premise to make a movie around, we wouldn’t bet against this one when it drops on December 21. This is the same studio that turned Minions and The Secret Life of Pets into massive hits.

And our own Mike Ryan pointed out that your kids will absolutely love it after he saw the film at the Toronto International Film Festival. On our end, we have to admit that the album does contain some genuinely great tracks like this incredibly unlikely Stevie Wonder x Ariana Grande duet.

Check out a few cuts from the Sing soundtrack below and have a listen to the whole thing here.

We don’t really know what’s going on here, all we know is that Ryan Adams is kicking himself over it.
