Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are both handsome, and charismatic, and talented, and married to beautiful women. Yet until last week, Jackman was obviously superior because he’s Wolverine and Reynolds is… a guy with a pizza place? Except now that the widely popular Deadpool is out, and Reynolds has the hit his career desperately needed, they’re equals.
Except for when he’s interviewing Jackman about his new movie, Eddie the Eagle. Haven’t heard of it? Well, neither has Reynolds, who confuses the biopic, about a skier (played by Taron Egerton) who became the person to represent Great Britain in Olympic ski jumping, for a more interesting film where Eddie’s mouth is sewn shut and lasers shoot from his eyes.
I think we have a sequel idea for Chappie.
The Deadpool and X-Men stars have remarkable chemistry together, but enjoy their bantering while it lasts. Once Reynolds realizes that the “Blake Lively” who wrote to Jackman to confirm their secret meeting at a hotel is his wife, well, that’s going to be a bigger disaster than X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
