Seth Rogen Wanted To Be The ‘Sh*tty Version Of Tom Hanks And Meg Ryan’ With Katherine Heigl

Howard Stern likes Knocked Up as much as Seth Rogen loves comparing dicks.

In April, Stern asked Katherine Heigl about comments she made in 2008, when the Grey’s Anatomy star criticized Knocked Up for being “sexist” and painting “women as shrews, as humorless and uptight.” Heigl admitted it was “dumb” of her to slam Judd Apatow’s film, and she called herself an “asshole” for having done so. “If you read the whole quote, I’m just saying that can be the nature of broad comedy,” she said. “They’re exaggerating stereotypes, that’s what makes it funny. But they just took the sexist thing out.”

On yesterday’s The Howard Stern Show, Rogen confessed that he thought “I would make a dozen movies with” Heigl. “I would be whatever the sh*tty version of Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan is.” Alas, it wasn’t meant to be.

“I thought we had a great dynamic, people seemed to like it, we were funny together, I was having a really good time, and then when I heard afterwards that she didn’t like it, that she seemed to not like the process, and she did not like the end product either. I think when that happens — also your trust feels somewhat betrayed. We have a very open process. We’re like, you have the ability to say anything at any moment. I don’t like how I’m coming across here.” (Via)

Rogen also said, in reference to Heigl thinking her critique hurt her career, that “I don’t want that to have happened to her at all. Because I’ve said a thousand stupid things, and I really like her. Especially if she is being honest, the only people who, in this situation, should in any way take anything from it is me and Judd. Because we are the ones she was talking about. For other people to not work with her because she didn’t like her experience with us is crazy.” Maybe they can recapture the magic in 28 Dresses?
