Shane Black’s ‘The Predator’ Gets An Official Release Date And Some Much Welcomed Praise

If there’s one thing we as a society need more than just about anything, it’s another installment in the Predator franchise. Thankfully, we now know exactly when that’s going to happen.

Just a couple weeks after 20th Century Fox released some imagery from The Predator, the latest film in what’s proven to be a very venerable series, now it can be told that the movie will hit theaters in roughly two years, March 2, 2018, to be exact. This latest Predator flick comes on the heels of 2010’s Predators, which starred Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace and Justified’s Walton Goggins.

Writer/director Shane Black, who has been associated with the series ever since appearing as one of the tall, dreadlocked alien’s victims way back in the original, Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer in 1987, serves as co-writer and director on this one, and that, along with this new info regarding a release date, is about all we know. But that might seem like enough according to Fred Dekker:

Black got into the directing game back in 2005 with the criminally underrated and overlooked Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, starring a pre-Iron Man Robert Downey Jr. He stuck with Downey for his next directing gig, taking the reins of that franchise from Jon Favreau and helming Iron Man 3 in 2013. And his next project, The Nice Guys, looks more along the lines of his first one, with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling starring in a ’70s-set detective comedy-thriller and scheduled for release this summer.

That’s what we know about Black. As for the Predator himself, well, we’ll just let his Facebook page do the talking.
