LeBron James And The Director Of ‘Fast And Furious 6’ May Unite For That ‘Space Jam’ Sequel You’ve Been Waiting For

Welcome back to the Space Jam.

A sequel to everyone’s favorite movie starring Michael Jordan, the Looney Tunes, Newman from Seinfeld, Bill Murray, Muggsy Bogues, and Product Placement has been rumored for years. Back in 2011, Kevin Durant was rumored to star in the film, until he wasn’t, then LeBron James and Dick Ebersol‘s sons got involved, until that got shut down, too. Earlier this year, we even wrote that “a Space Jam sequel hasn’t been seriously discussed” between Warner Bros. and LeBron’s SpringHill entertainment company.

And yet, according to the Hollywood Reporter, Fast Five‘s Justin Lin is reportedly set to direct Space Jam 2, starring the 2010’s MJ, LeBron James.

The Fast & Furious 6 and Star Trek Beyond helmer [Lin] is in talks to direct Warner Bros.’ sequel Space Jam 2 while [Andrew] Dodge will write… The Cleveland Cavaliers NBA player [LeBron James], who recently appeared in Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck, will star… Sources say it’s early on the in the process but that Lin and Dodge are working on the script. Charles Ebersol is producing. (Via)

A sequel to the inexplicably popular Space Jam starring LeBron James and the guy who directed two of the three best Fast and Furious movies? This is huge news for anyone who still owns a Shawn Bradley jersey. And B-Real.

Let’s start dream-casting now. With the first pick, the Monstars steal the soul of Steph Curry…
