James Bond Is Just Getting Started In The New TV Spot For ‘Spectre’

Earlier this week, we saw Sam Smith’s announcement that he will indeed be the crooner behind the new theme song for the next installment o the James Bond movie franchise. SPECTRE — or “Bond 24” for you die-hard fans out there — might be Daniel Craig’s last outing as the titular spy. With that possibility staking claim in your mind, point your attention to the new TV spot above.

The 30-second clip teases a brooding storyline amidst the expected sleek backdrop of flashy cars and flashier action sequences. The trailer may tease a pleasing action spectacle but with Madeleine Swann (played by Lea Seydoux) asking James Bond his motives behind choosing the assassin’s life, it alludes to a deeper and darker exploration of Bond’s past. It’s worth noting that throughout the past 53 years, this is the first time any character has referred to our hero spy as the assassin he truly is.

Another tasty tidbit featured in the above video is the bit of fisticuffs between Bond and Dave Bautista’s Mr. Hinx inside a fancy dining car. Let’s also not forget the footage of that iconic Aston-Martin zipping through the streets of Rome and Bond’s helicopter somersaulting through the Mexico sky.

With all the flash and bang crammed into the above trailer, one can only imagine how much of a bang “Bond 24” will pack once it comes out. Thankfully, we only have a few more months to wait as SPECTRE is set to hit theaters — right square in the face — on Friday November 6th.
