New Spider-Man Footage From ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Revealed

We were already psyched to see Spider-Man say hey to everyone in the final trailer for Captain America: Civil War (our review is available here), and now a brief TV spot has given us new footage of Spider-Man’s first meeting with Bucky (The Winter Soldier). In true Spider-Man/Winter Soldier fashion, Bucky is silently trying to punch everyone while frowning, and Spider-Man is just having fun like always. “You have a metal arm? That is awesome, dude.

We wonder if the diaries Bucky always carries with him have an entry like, “Dear diary, today Spider-Man said I was awesome. But I tried to punch him anyway. Will I ever have more than one friend?” Anyway, good luck with that metal arm, dude.

Along with the new TV spot comes the news that Captain America: Civil War is already tracking for a massive opening weekend, likely more than $175 million in the U.S. alone. So expect to see plenty of Spider-Man beyond just Spider-Man: Homecoming if Tom Holland’s version of the character continues to be as highly-praised as it has been by critics so far.

We’re hoping Spider-Man’s boundless optimism eventually meets up with Deadpool, as is being planned, so Spidey can receive all the praise he deserves for consistently nailing the superhero landing.

Captain America: Civil War opens May 6. Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7, 2017.
