The Cast Of ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Know Exactly How To Use Dubsmash The Right Way

Most of us are familiar with Dubsmash by now, you know, the app that your friends will use while they lip sync over popular songs and they’ll think that they’re being really clever, but just sort of makes you feel bad for them? The best part about Dubsmash is when the famous and fabulous decide to show themselves goofing off to hilarious results and while the raging popularity for the app may have faded a bit, that doesn’t mean that there still aren’t people doing awesome things with it.

There are just a few short weeks until the debut of the latest J.J. Abrams Star Trek flick, Star Trek Beyond, and the cast has been dropping some serious hints at what they were doing on set while filming and no, it wasn’t speaking Klingon. According to The AV Club, it was having a ton of fun with Dubsmash together and it was all documented via social media.

Videos even include the recently departed Anton Yelchin, who was involved in a fatal car accident that claimed his life. The videos show the young actor goofing around with the best of them. He also showed that Star Trek villains and bridge officers can get along just fine.

Damn. Star Trek Beyond drops on July 22nd and somehow there is a feeling that while it will absolutely be a fun, J.J. Abrams romp with lots of lens flare, there will also be some difficult moments watching Yelchin in one of his final performances.
