Get Your First Glimpse At Lupita Nyong’o’s Character In This New ‘Force Awakens’ Spot

With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just over a week away, Disney has rolled out a new TV spot. The spot is brief, but it contains a solid amount of new footage, including a nice little back-and-forth between Rey and Han Solo, BB-8 being sent for a loop in the Millennium Falcon, and a stormtrooper showing off some surprisingly slick moves with some sort of melee weapon. I’m not sure I’m ready for stormtroopers actually being competent on the battlefield.

We also recently got a our first on-screen look at Lupita Nyong’o’s character Maz Kanata. It was previously confirmed that Max Kanata is the little goggled creature on The Force Awakens posters, but we hadn’t seen her in action. The following international TV spot also features our first glimpse of Nien Nunb, a returning character from Return of the Jedi (he was Lando’s right-hand alien during the big final battle). The spot also contains some new footage, so it’s worth checking out. You can see Nien Nunb around the 17-second mark:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18.
