The ‘Super Troopers’ Laid The Law Down On Willie Nelson Before Joining Him On Stage

As is well known around these parts, Super Troopers 2 has finally started to film. and that means the guys from Broken Lizard are back up to mischief that won them fans in the first film. That doesn’t mean they lack time to fool around off the set — or adjacent to the set considering the costumes. Jay Chandrasekhar reached out to a passing Willie Nelson as he made his way to Boston for a show, offering some muscle to keep the country legend safe on stage. That led to the photo op above and some more fun below.

Once they ended up at the show, the boys in Broken Lizard hopped on stage with Nelson and enjoyed some of the spotlights. Obviously, the group has some history with Willie Nelson. He not only played Uncle Jesse in Jay Chandrasekhar’s version of The Dukes of Hazzard, but Nelson also had a cameo at the end of the Beerfest to tease the fake sequel titled Weedfest.

It’s certainly not a bad thing to have a friendship with a guy like Willie Nelson. The guy is a true living legend of outlaw country, plus he knows where the good stuff is at. It’s good to be the Red Headed Stranger.
