Emilia Clarke’s role in Terminator: Genisys is hardly stunt casting. But don’t tell that to whoever put this promo together! They really want you to remember she’s on Game of Thrones!
Really, this just fills us with questions. Like, for example, do they think the Iron Throne is a T-1000 that’s just sleeping or something? Because that would be kind of cool, but we don’t think Martin would go for it. More relevantly, though… who’s this promo for? They can’t run it during Game of Thrones, for obvious reasons. Anybody who remotely cares about The Terminator is probably aware that Clarke is in it and what her most famous role is. Sure, Paramount thinks Clarke is the real celebrity draw in this movie, but there’s got to be a more elegant way to draw attention to her role than this.
Mostly, we’re hoping this means everybody and everything in the movie is a brainwashed T-1000 or something. That’d definitely be unexpected, if nothing else.
