The ‘Captain Marvel’ Movie May Have Found Its Two Female Writers

Of all the recently announced Phase Three Marvel movies, few have received as much attention as Captain Marvel, and yet we still know very little about the movie. We know nothing about the plot, stars or director, which is surprising, since the move isn’t actually that far off.

Well, we now have at least one tidbit of information – word is Marvel is eyeing female screenwriters Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve for the flick. Perlman co-wrote Guardians of the Galaxy with James Gunn, so obviously she’d be a big get and LeFauve is the writer for the upcoming Pixar movie Inside Out. Perlman and LeFauve aren’t an established writing team, but word is Marvel liked both their Captain Marvel pitches so much, they want them to write the script together.

The Captain Marvel movie will star the Carol Danvers version of the character. Danvers, a former Air Force pilot, gained super powers when her DNA was fused with alien Kree DNA. For years she was closely associated with Captain Marvel as Ms. Marvel. Eventually, in 2012, Danvers took on the mantle of Captain Marvel, bringing the somewhat obscure character to new heights of popularity and relevance.

The Captain Marvel movie is set to hit theaters November 2nd, 2018.
