Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson are here to do a number on your nerves, courtesy of the brand new trailer for The Duel. The two Hunger Games alums aren’t exactly chummy in the 1880s western that features Hemsworth as a Texas Ranger investigating a preacher (Harrelson) with a svengali-esque sway over his townspeople. Oh, also there’s this nasty habit of folks dying or disappearing in the area, which is sort of frowned upon.
The trailer for this upcoming offering from Wish You Were Here director Kieran Darcy-Smith is marinated in danger and some good ol’ fashioned snakehandling. Naturally, this film is also a revenge tale (get that compromised version of closure, Hemsworth!) and a variety of encounters seems to be building to the titular duel. For those scoring at home, be sure to give Harrelson extra marks for really nailing the terrifying preacher guy look. Is he a supernaturally-aided being touched by god or simply a charismatic monster that likes to handle a popular best-seller? Presumably the answer will be revealed in some fashion when The Duel hits theaters and on-demand on June 24.
