Dwayne Johnson Is Thrilled Jack Black Is Joining Him In The Upcoming ‘Jumanji’ Reboot

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is an Instagram champ. We’ve covered this before, but it bears repeating. Dude knows how to make the most of the service. The latest example? A crazy bit of casting news about one of Johnson’s 71,000 current projects.

In news that you probably figured out when you saw the Instagram post we have lovingly tucked above, America’s favorite alarm clock app power player has confirmed two big names for the much debated Jumanji reboot that’ll stampede into your life whether you like it or not. Jack Black is officially a go to join the project. His presence features Johnson gushing that “Jack brings that rare balance of cool with funny and edge with childlike joy.” There’s certainly been worse co-worker evaluations, haven’t there? Johnson also notes that he’s been a fan of Black for years and that his yet-to-be revealed role is a perfect match for the Goosebumps actor.

Not only is Black confirmed for family adventure funzos, but we now have confirmation that Kevin Hart is definitely onboard too. This would traditionally be considered bigger news, it’s just that Hart’s name has been floating around this project for a while now. Still, we’re now officially ushered into the age of The Rock saying he’s part of the “Jumanji Breakfast Club.” With more major roles still to be cast, no need to sort out who’s The Brain, The Basketcase, The Criminal and so on just yet.

Jumanji: The Rebootening!
is scheduled to arrive in theaters on July 28, 2017. Bad Teacher helmer Jake Kasden will direct and we’ll provide more details as the Jumanji Breakfast Club fills out.
