Here Are 7 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About ‘The Big Lebowski’

There are few movies that I can watch repeatedly and enjoy from start to finish, but The Big Lebowski almost certainly makes that list. It’s full of quotes you can use almost every day, entertaining in both plot and performance, and it transcends the viewing experience, creating this cultural phenomenon that shines in things like the book I’m A Lebowski, You’re A Lebowski and at the annual Lebowski Fest events that happen across the country. It’s a great f*cking movie.

It’s only natural that I’d want to share this video. I’m a sucker for the random facts, even if seven is a bit of a small number to tout for a post. There’s quite a few missing.

One of my favorites was that most of The Dude’s wardrobe was provided by Jeff Bridges himself, including those famous jelly sandals. There’s also the little nods to The Coen Brothers other films, particularly Fargo. Not only does Peter Stormare finally get some pancakes, but the running gag of Walter telling Donnie to “shut the f*ck up” is a reference to Steve Buscemi’s character not keeping quiet in the previous film.

What is your favorite bit of Lebowski trivia? It isn’t like there isn’t a ton to sift through.
