Tom Hanks Finishes His ‘Da Vinci Code’ Business With An ‘Inferno’ Teaser

This teaser — which is over before you know it — for the first Inferno trailer promises action and adventure from the upcoming full trailer and the movie itself. The long-gestating third film in the Da Vinci Code series is finally set to be released this year and will once again be helmed by Ron Howard with Tom Hanks in the starring role of Robert Langdon. While this book in the series didn’t set the world on fire with its popularity like the previous two, Tom Hanks can still play movie star when he wants to and elevate the material. Plus, he gets to dig his teeth into playing a character with amnesia this time around. Amnesia is not great for Robert Langdon, as he forgets that he’s such a successful saver-of-the-day, but it is convenient for anyone who wants to forget Larry Crowne

This latest collaboration is centered around a mysterious “kill switch” that will immediately murder half of the planet’s population … in order to circumvent humanity’s extinction 100 years from now. It’s a difficult decision to be sure, and of course Langdon is on the case to prevent either outcome from happening. The teaser doesn’t offer much information besides the bare minimum of details, but the full trailer is set to be released in the near future and will give fans of the trilogy a more complete picture of just what is about to go down in the latest European escapade. Felicity Jones adds to her action/thriller credentials with a role here as well, joining other highly anticipated cast members like Ben Foster, Omar Sy, and Irrfan Khan. The film is set for release on October 28, 2016.
