Tom Hiddleston Is Ready To Give Up Being Bad For A Chance To Play James Bond

The long line for possible James Bond actors just got a little longer. Daniel Craig is still firmly in the role, despite his very confusing jokes about wanting to slit his wrists over another go at 007. There’s also talk of Tom Hardy, Idris Elba, and many others on the list, but now Tom Hiddleston has made mention of being interested in the role if it is ever up for grabs.

In an interview with The Sunday Times, Hiddleston noted how he feels about the franchise and if he would actually take the role:

“I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing,” he said, adding that he went to watch Spectre while shooting Skull Island in Hawaii. “If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”

The Hollywood Reporter mentions that Hiddleston’s role in the upcoming The Night Manager has plenty of Bond flavor within, giving oddsmakers a tickle in whatever portion of their brain makes them perform their job. Like a little sack full of change.

It’d be interesting to see Hiddleston in the role, especially considering his turn as a bad guy in all of those Jaguar ads and his role as Loki in the Marvel films. He’s definitely British enough for the role — almost too British.
